Why invest in Bolivia?

Market access

Bolivia is a member of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), the Andean Community (CAN) and, it is also an associated member of the Common Southern Market (MERCOSUR) Hence, Bolivia is part of a market of over 700 million inhabitants.

It has access to the U. S. and the European markets and, it is tagged as the most highly favoured country because of the lien preference law (ATPA) and, the generalised preference system (GSP), respectively.

Excellent Investment Initiatives

  • Foreign investors have the same rights, obligations and guaranties laws and regulations grant the national investor. Besides, they are granted property rights.
  • A free exchange system is guaranteed and, there are neither capital import or export restrictions, nor on the remittance of dividends, interests or royalty proceedings resulting from technology transfer or other mercantile concepts.
  • Goods and service production, trading, import and export freedom as well as free price determination is guaranteed.
  • Free currency convertibility and, the faculty for anyone economic agent to perform any form of local or foreign currency exchange is guaranteed.
  • Goods and services exporters are refunded internal revenue taxes and, liens paid out when raw materials and goods incorporated to export goods within the framework of tax neutrality.
  • There is a simple and attractive taxation system current in Bolivia. Investors have access to local fiscal loans and, also in many countries for taxes paid in Bolivia.
  • The more common taxes to take into account are: 13% (VAT) or Value Added Taxes, 3% non deductible Transactions Tax (IT) and, Profit Taxes (IU) equivalent to a 25% of the profits paid on an annual basis.
