Free industrial and trade zones
and, terminals along with the temporary import regime for
exports enjoy the power of the principle of customs and
fiscal segregation systems and tax and lien exemptions have
been granted for them. Labour force is large and competitive
and, show there is a low absence and rotation rate with
great manual skills and a learning potential and, there
are freely available human management and technical resources.
There is a growing infrastructure with large natural gas,
oil, water, electric power as well as highway, railway and
airline transportation, notwithstanding a modern telecommunications
system.
Natural
Resources
There are large natural reserves
in Bolivia, such as the mineral and metal producing lodes.
Among these, the following can be listed: gold, silver,
antimony, copper, zinc, lead, tin, sulphur, potassium, lithium,
borate and precious stones. Other important resources can
also be mentioned within the forestry area where there is
a range of fine and exotic woods like mahogany, cedar, oak,
etc. Some of the largest and certified natural forests in
the world exist in Bolivia. That makes it one of the countries
with the largest bio-diversity in the world.
Two thirds of the country constitute
the so-called tropics and, over three quarters are fertile
land suitable for agriculture where an unlimited number
of tropical fruit and vegetable are produced. Lakes and
rivers also have a wide range of fish and, there is therefore
a great industrial and medicinal development potential.
It is also worthwhile mentioning that there are ideal climatic
regions for the production of a wide variety of special
fibres like alpaca, llama and angora of world-wide recognition.
Over 1.300 tourist attraction resorts have been identified
in the country.
